  • And Much More!

Smooth-On Announces New Body Double

Smooth-On's New Body Double™ is a silicone rubber that can be applied directly to the skin to make fast and lasting molds of the face, hands and other body parts. Available in "Standard" or "Fast" Set, both are mixed 1A:1B by volume, cure quickly with high tear strength and will reproduce perfect detail from any original model - far better detail than any alginate.

Cast As Many Times As You Want - You can cast anything into a Body Double™ mold and make many castings from a single mold - not just one.

Save On Material And Labor Costs - With Body Double™, you use less material and can go right from the body to casting. By not having to make a plaster positive from your alginate mold, clean
it up and re-mold it, you actually end up saving money.

LOCTITE Introduces The Next Generation
of Plastic Bonding

Loctite has made the assembly of difficult to bond thermoplastic components easier and better by adding Loctite®.
LOCTITE® 3030 Polyolefin Bonder enables manufacturers to expand their design options, boost productivity and improve product performance. This new 2-component, thixotropic acrylic adhesive eliminates mechanical fasteners, plastic welding, surface treatments, messy hot melt or solvent-based adhesives and primers. The new 3030 Polyolefin Bonder sets quickly to let you get your product assembled and out the door faster and easier.

Loctite® 3030 Polyolefin Bonder is designed primarily to bond many low energy substrates such as polyethylene and polypropylene, and can be used as a general-purpose adhesive on many other substrates.

Typical Applications
Loctite®
3030 is designed for bonding to difficult substrates, such as HDPE, LLDPE, and polypropylene. The product offers good resistance to many chemicals, allowing it to be used to assemble small appliances, signs and displays, speaker components, battery cases, liquid tanks, and storage bins to name just a few.

Introducing RenCastTM
6492 / Ren® 6492 is a non-mercury, flame retardant polyurethane system. This product is a new development in the family of RenCast fast polyurethanes, which have been specifically formulated to have an interesting combination of long work time (gel time) and short demolding time. RenCast 6492 is designed to closely simulate the properties of flame retardant ABS.
6494 / Ren® 6494 is a non-mercury, flexible polyurethane system. This product is a new development in the family of RenCast fast polyurethanes, which have been specifically formulated to have an interesting combination of long work time (gel time) and short demolding time. RenCast 6494 is designed to produce rubber-like parts with flexibility and hardness of 40 - 50 Shore A.
6496 / Ren® 6496 is a non-mercury, thermoplastic-like polyurethane system. This product is a new development in the family of RenCast fast polyurethanes, which have been specifically formulated to have an interesting combination of long work time (gel time) and short demolding time. RenCast 6496 is designed to simulate thermoplastics such as TPO and PE.

New Products Introduced by RenShape Solutions

Introducing RenShape® 5020 Low Density Styling Board

RenShape 5020 is a light gray colored, syntactic polyurethane board. RenShape 5020 has a moderately low density of approximately 10 pounds per cubic foot. RenShape machines very easily and finishes to a very good surface. The product is useful as a material for hand working and CNC machining styling and temporary master models.

Introducing RenlnfusionTM 8615/ Ren® 8615 High Temperature Epoxy Resin System

RenInfusion 8615(Resin) / Ren 8615(Hardener) is a two-component, low-viscosity epoxy system developed for use in the production of advanced composites using vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), resin transfer molding (RTM), Seemans Composite Resin Injection Molding Process (SCRIMPSM), or other infusion processes. The low-mixed viscosity and wet-out potential of RenInfusion 8615/ Ren 8615 enhance processability parameters.
